PMCCCA BOARD MEETING

MINUTES

January 23, 2014

The regular bi-monthly Board meeting of the Port Malabar Country Club Community Association was held at 6:00 pm on January 23, 2014 at The Knowledge Exchange 5151 Babcock Street, Palm Bay, Florida.

Charlie Glentz, President, called the meeting to order at 6:00pm. Mr. Glentz welcomed the community members who were present.

Ms Bowden read the Treasurer’s report provided by Ms Burgin. The report showed a balance of $20,595.47 as of January 23, 2014.

Ms Bowden reported that PMCCCA has 23 paid members and the membership applications are still coming in.

Charlie Madge presented a report to the Board concerning the history and recent actions related to the golf course. Mr. Madge noted that the golf course is no longer on the market for sale.

Mr. Glentz stated that the current Board has been receiving records, documents and equipment from the former Board and will continue to work to complete the process.

Ms Bowden reported that the PMCCCA website is being updated and information about the newly elected Board members would be posted on the website along with the meeting schedule of the Board.

Ms. Bowden indicated the Board held an organizational meeting in December and voted to hold regularly scheduled Board meetings for the coming year. The Board will meet by-monthly, on the fourth Thursday beginning in January. The Executive Board (officers of the Board) will meet the third Thursday of each month. The time and location of these meetings will be posted on our website. Our next General Membership meeting will be held in May.

The Board voted to appoint Russ Wood as Vice-President and Bob Robidoux and Chris Cantor as Directors. The Board also voted to appoint Carlos Bowden as Board Parliamentarian.

President Glentz asked for volunteers to serve on the following committees: Membership, Social/Welcome, Neighborhood Watch, Liaison/Public Relations, Beautification and Bylaws.

Mr. Glentz announced that signs to replace the present ones in the median of Port Malabar Road had been donated by Sten Sollenberg and were being prepared to be installed soon.

The President stated that some equipment had been received from former President Tkacs. He stated because some of the equipment was outdated and not useable that he would work with the Board to determine which items should be kept and which should be targeted for disposal. This will be done when all the equipment and supplies have been received from the former Board.

Ms Bowden presented information concerning a training seminar sponsored by BCAM (Brevard Community Association Management) for Community Association Board Members to be held at the Hilton Rialto in Melbourne on Saturday February 8. The Seminar titled “What Every Board Member Should Know” will provide certification points to meet requirements for board members to be certified in the State of Florida. She urged all members to attend. Deadline for registration is February 5, 2014.

The Board voted unanimously to deny the request from Alexa Peronard for a refund of her $900.00 donation made in 2006 to the PMCCCA legal fund.

The Board approved a request from Carlos Bowden for reimbursement of $575.00 for legal fees he incurred while attempting to legally obtain a list of names and addresses of the PMCCCA members.

Upon completion of Board business the President asked for questions and comments from those members in attendance. A brief discussion followed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25
